Subject-Verb Agreement
- Two or more subjects joined by "and" are consideraded plural and require a verb form without an "s".
1.- Taylor and his sisters come to my house this night for dinner.
2.- My mom and my dad watch a movie in the living rooom.
3.- My friends and my brothers friends like the same kind of music.
4.- Ana and her cousins drive a bicycle to the school everyday.
5.- David, Marvin and Diana gave me a cake for my birthday
- If a subject is modified by the words "each" or "every" that subject is singular and will take a verb form that ends in "s".
1.- Maria cooks for her mother everyday.
2.-She goes to work everyday in her car.
3.- She writes to his brother every day at the morning.
4.- She goes to the store every four days.
5.- Marcos drinks a lot of water every day.
- If plural subjects are joined by "or", "nor", or "but", the verb must only agreee with the subject that is closest to it.
1.- She will deliver the proyect i two or three weeks.
2.- You can come monday or saturday.
3.- You can either come with us or stay here.
4.- I wanted to go the concert, but it was sold out.
5.- Everyone but David knows.
- Indefinite pronouns are usually singular and take a verb form that ends in "s".
1.- Either would be a good option.
2.- We love to travel but others prefer to stay at home all the vacations.
3.- None are available for several months.
4.- They were staying in somebody's house.
5.- I opened the door but there was no one.
